Flamenco dancer Pastora is an elegant, powerful dancer with graceful bodywork and impressive footwork.
She lived in Algeciras, Cádiz and regulary travels back to Spain to work and develop her dancing. Recently she performed in the Peña Flamenca de Conil, in Tablao Flamenco Almedina in Tarifa, in El Limbo in Algeciras, in Sotogrande. Pastora founded her own academy Pastora Flamenco in Amsterdam, but she also teaches in other cities and countries, like in Spain.
Pastora participated in the documentary ‘The Luthier’, and in the Dutch TV program Rembrand on NPO1. She made several theatreproductions, like with the singer Antonio Carrasco. Every year she tours with the dancer Noelia Sabarea from Algeciras. She is a guestdancer in different productions. Pastora had the honour to perform with great artists such as Pepe de Pura, Juan Jose Amador, Luis Amador, Felipe de Algeciras, Paco Javier Jimeno, Ana Fargas, El Shuster, Fran de Algeciras, Alicia Carrasco, Messi, Lola ‘La Chiri’.
Pastora is a certified and experienced teacher and worked several years at the academy Noelia Sabarea in Spain. She gives workshops to adults and children in different countries, in Holland in Muziekgebouw aan t IJ and in various theatre academies.
In 2020 Pastora received the quality certificate of the Escuela Flamenco de Andalucia, a recognition by masters such as Javier Latorre, La Truco. She was invited to be a member of this international flamencoinstitute in Malaga.
Pastora started dancing at the age of 5, classical, jazz. She studied flamenco with many different masters in Madrid at Amor de Dios, in Seville at the academy Matilde Coral, at the Festival de Jerez, in private coaching with Noelia Sabarea. She was selected for public masterclasses with great masters Farruquito, Rocio Molina, Israel Galvan, Olga Pericet and Isabel Bayon, organised by the Dutch Flamencobiennale.
In her performances and classes Pastora works together with different musicians from various countries. She loves to connect through flamenco.
